As a professional, you want to provide valuable, measurable results to
your organization. The CPLP™ designation distinguishes you from other
job candidates by demonstrating what you possess an in-depth
knowledge of and can demonstrate expertise in the diverse workplace
learning and performance field.
THE CPLP™ addresses the nine areas of expertise based on the
middle tier of the ASTD Competency Model™.

The ASTD Competency Model™ provides a strategic road
map for today's successful learning and performance
professional. There are three groups to the Model:
- Roles are groupings of targeted competencies. They
are not job titles. An individual’s job may encompass
one or more roles, similar to different "hats" that one
might have to wear.
- Areas of Expertise are the specialized
knowledge/skills an individual needs over the
foundational competencies. An individual may need
expertise in one or more areas.
- Foundational Competencies define relevant
behaviors for learning and performance professionals
to varying degrees.
